Ever since masks became a regular face accessory, I've decided to stop wearing foundation. Because, why. Turns out, it actually became a great opportunity to detox my skin by choosing less products that do more. Yes, less IS more. Underneath a mask that covers 3/4th of my face, I make sure that the make-up I do put on counts, which means I'm mainly focusing on healthy skin and, of course, my eyes.
My ten minute pandemic make-up routine holy grail items:
- Tarte BB Cream Tinted Primer (in Medium): I mean it when I say less products that do more. This one is a tinted primer that blurs pores AND has SPF.
- Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade (in Dark Brown): Pretty solid item that I've been using for the past 3-4 years since I like my eyebrows more defined than bushy. If it ever dries up, I just add eyedrops and it works great!
- Hourglass Unlocked Instant Extensions: I LOVE the way this mascara washes off. Because of its 'technology' it doesn't smear, and comes off as filaments. Very bizarre, but very efficient for cleaning.
- NARS Cheek Palette: I am never disappointed with the pigmentation in NARS make-up so I always get my blush from them. I have the Narsissist Palette since it has blush and a highlighter, but this four shade face shaper palette is a good alternative.
- NARS Radiant Concealer (in Macadamia): Honestly, since the pandemic, concealer has been my new favorite thing. I look forward to putting it on every morning. This one is SO good, SO creamy, and SO easy to blend. It's also full coverage so I feel good without foundation. Very important to set with setting powder though - it really is the trick to keeping it on all day.
Those are my five mains, everyday. Occasionally, I'll add in eyeliner or a shimmery lid:
- MAC 24HR liner: A staple. Reliable and dries fast.
- Cover FX Shimmer Veil (in Gilded) - This one is an added plus, not necessary, but very worth it. Glossier has a good alternative as well.
Are you wearing make-up underneath your mask? What are some of your favorites?
